Many fans claim that Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is the best game in the Elder Scrolls series, but graphically it shows its age these days. So Tyler Smith spearheaded an attempt to build a graphical overhaul mod, dubbed “Morrowind 2011,” and released it to the public a few days ago. And some people were pretty upset about this. No, not the folks at Bethesda. There was actually a backlash by many of the modders who contributed to the project. Smith compiled and released Morrowind 2011 without asking permission or giving credit to all the people who helped make it a reality. One modder, who prefers to remain anonymous, told Joystiq.com that “most of us would’ve given permission if asked.” Unfortunately, it’s a little bit too late now.  Smith blocked his own torrent of the Morrowind 2011 mod, but this is the internet we’re talking about here. The mod is already out there, and there’s a good chance it will resurface in the future. |
