Natal Pricing, Release Date Newly Rumored; Natal Won’t be the Final Name

None

According to a “trusted source” cited by Edge-Online, Microsoft’s Project Natal will launch in North America in October and retail for $149 as a standalone product.

It was also mentioned that the motion-sensing camera device will also come bundled with an Xbox 360 Arcade edition for $299.

The report also went on to say that the Project Natal moniker revealed to us at last year’s E3 will be done away with.  Perhaps more interesting is the fact that the software launch line-up will be targeted at a much more casual audience than the Xbox 360 library of games currently is.

Here’s what Edge-Online’s “trusted source” had to say on the matter:

“Microsoft expects to sell millions and millions of Natal units in its first year on the market so you can expect the software launch line-up to target non-traditional gamers. A major marketing campaign will also play a key role in attracting and educating the expanded audience about Xbox 360’s controller-free revolution.”
