For those of you not already in the know, DayZ is a mod for ArmA 2 that adds zombies into the mix. And this brutal survivalist simulator has a massive fan base right now. The upcoming standalone version, however, may integrate some pretty interesting new game elements into the mix. According to Rock Paper Shotgun, “instanced” building is being added. Essentially, this would allow players to build their own structures, like a sort of screwed up zombie version of Minecraft. Players would be able to live in underground bases that they would have to dig out themselves at risk of cave-in. In addition, RPS was told that the new standalone version will completely redo the game’s world of Chernarus.
