For months now, we’ve all been referring to Sony’s new handheld as the NGP. It’s been so long that it can be easy to forget that “NGP” is simply a placeholder. The official name for Sony’s new device has yet to be unveiled. However, if you believe the rumor mill, Sony will be unveiling the name of its new handheld at E3: PS Vita.  If you think that sounds like a silly name, don’t worry—you’ve got some company. As soon as this rumor hit, industry analyst Michael Pachter weighed in on it, calling the PS Vita “the dumbest name ever.” Of course, we have absolutely no confirmation from anyone yet, so this one could just be a very elaborate rumor. Otherwise, we may have to get used to the idea of carrying a “Vita” in our pockets. |
