Vita Firmware Update 1.69 Is Live

Vita Firmware Update 1.69 Is Live

None

The latest firmware update for the PlayStation Vita is available now, and it’s entirely optional.

Update 1.69 doesn’t do anything major, adding what Sony’s Eric Lempel calls “improved software stability.” It’s only 97 MB in size, so the minor upgrade should be in and out of the way fairly quickly.

While this optional update may not do too much for Vita owners, the one coming this summer may very well cause more excitement. Sony has said that two of the handheld’s most desired features, PSOne Classics and YouTube support, will be coming to the handheld sometime within the next few months, among other features.

No official date has been given for that upcoming update, but players of the handheld would be wise to keep their eye out for whenever that day comes.
