Nintendo Announces The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Nintendo Announces The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

None

Swordplay like never before.  That’s the emphasis in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Using Wii MotionPlus, players will have 1:1 control over their sword actions — including spin attacks and sword beams.  Also, the use of the shield will be an integral part of the game — useful for both standard protection and going offensive with a shield bash.

Selecting items such as bombs, the bow, the slingshot and other new ones such as the whip and the beetle are all accessed easily through the B button and simply rotating your hand — as if you were searching around in your pockets.

Backgrounds and foreground environments look very pretty this time around.  It is obvious that creator Shigeru Miyamoto wants to make this the ultimate Zelda experience.

As such, the development team won’t have The Legend of Zelda: Skyward sword ready for retail until 2011.  At least we’ll have a good idea of what to expect, as the playable demo will be available to play on the E3 show floor.
