Nintendo Confirms 3DS Bundles

Nintendo Confirms 3DS Bundles

None

Last week Best Buy confirmed the authenticity of its leaked Black Friday ad , including the special edition Zelda 3DS bundle that has some gamers (me) frothing at the mouth. We’d reported on rumors of it earlier, but we still weren’t sure exactly what release plans were for the bundle. In a press release issued today, Nintendo both solidifies the bundle’s release date and unveils a second bundle.

To be fair, those who’d seen the GameStop ad had already heard word of the Super Mario 3D Land bundle, but hearing of its existence directly from Nintendo of America lends it a new weight. This is a real thing, and, while the 3DS it includes is just the basic Flame Red model, it also brings a copy of the new Mario platformer to the table. Nothing to sneeze at, for those uninterested in Zelda and its heraldry (heathens).

You can expect these bundles to hit on Thanksgiving day. That’s this Thursday, November 24. Since most retailers will be closed that day, though, it’s really more a Black Friday item. A quick call to GameStop confirmed that, no, you cannot pre-order them. You simply have to show up in the early morning on the busiest retail day of the year and hope for the best.
