Norway Takes Violent Video Games Off Shelves

Norway Takes Violent Video Games Off Shelves

None

The recent terrorist shooting in Norway by Anders Behring Breivik was an honest tragedy, leaving 77 dead and others wounded. This anti-Islamic fundamentalist is one of the worst examples of humanity I can think of.

Breivik said in his manifesto that he trained on games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. As a result, the game and others like it, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, Homefront, and Sniper: Ghost Warrior, have been taken off the shelves of Norwegian retailers.

It’s understandable that people are upset over this. But are video games truly to blame for the event, or are they just an unfortunate scapegoat?
