Call of Duty Website Lets You Link Your Nintendo Account

Call of Duty Website Lets You Link Your Nintendo Account

Something weird was discovered by NeoGAF member catmario the other day. On the official Call of Duty website, you can now link your Nintendo account. This suggests that an upcoming Call of Duty game could be released to the Wii U, considering that’s the device that primarily uses your Nintendo account. I suppose it could also come to the 3DS, but I’m not entirely sure the handheld is powerful enough.

Linking your Nintendo Network ID with the Call of Duty website doesn’t really do anything. You can also link your PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and Steam accounts to the website, and that helps you to find other Call of Duty players. But with no Call of Duty title on the Wii U, linking your Nintendo account seems just like a way to get an extra checkmark on your profile. Activision has not yet commented on whether or not Call of Duty: Black Ops III will make its way to the Wii U, but Advanced Warfare did not come out on the Wii U. However, both previous Black Ops games came out on Nintendo consoles, so we may see Black Ops III follow suit.
