Call of Duty Elite Shuts Down This Friday

Call of Duty Elite Shuts Down This Friday

If you used your membership in Call of Duty Elite as a badge of honor, your honor will be running out soon. Activision will be closing down the service as of the end of this week. They have no plans to bring it back, instead supporting each further Call of Duty game with their own companion apps.

As of Friday, all Call of Duty Elite apps will simply be unable to connect to the service. Elite founders will keep their special emblem and it will migrate over to the Call of Duty app for Call of Duty: Ghosts . Elite members will also receive two hours of Double XP for their loyalty. All YouTube videos stored in a Call of Duty Elite account will remain available, however linked YouTube accounts will have their Call of Duty videos migrated to their main account.

Most notably, all clan functions will cease functioning. This means all clan and clan management tools for Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops II will go offline. You also will not be able to view the medals earned through Clan Ops and Clan Challenges. Finally, all Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops II stats will be unable to be viewed via the Elite service.
