MW3 Still Breaking Records

MW3 Still Breaking Records

None

Sure, Modern Warfare 3’s day one sales broke records to be the “biggest entertainment launch of all time,” but do you know what’s five times more impressive? Breaking a five-day sales record.

According to Activision, Modern Warfare 3 has done exactly that, earning $775 million in sales from its first five days on store shelves. This handily puts to rest last year’s five-day record of $650 million set by Call of Duty: Black Ops or the measly $550 million record set by Modern Warfare 2 before it.

“With $775 million of sales of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in its first five days, Call of Duty has become the first entertainment property in history to set five-day launch records for three consecutive years across all forms of entertainment,” said Bobby Kotick, Activision CEO.

Of course, this is just for sales of Modern Warfare 3 itself, not even taking into account the money rolling in from Call of Duty Elite subscriptions.
