Official Skyrim App Finally Hits App Store

Official Skyrim App Finally Hits App Store

None

There are a lot of Skyrim apps on the market, but none of them contain the official seal of approval from Bethesda. However, yesterday Prima Games announced that they have put together an official Skyrim app and it’s already available on iTunes.

The app, called “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Official World Interactive Map” was published by Random House Digital, and is technically free, but only in the loosest sense of the word. The initial version gives you access to a map containing the entire world and 9 capital cities. It allows players to zoom in up to 3200 percent while exploring the Skyrim universe.

However, if you want to unlock the app’s entire potential, you’ll have to break open your piggy bank. There are 15 different add-on options that give players access to things like unusual gems, marriage prospects, or the locations of anyone who can be recruited. Each item can be purchased separately, or you can shell out $9.99 for the whole shebang.

Either way, if you’re still playing Skyrim, or planning to start, the initial free version should keep you from getting lost. That’s definitely worth the cost of admission.
