PAYDAY: The Heist Is Suddenly Available On PC

None

Well this kind of snuck up on everyone.

Sony Online Entertainment announced yesterday that PAYDAY: The Heist has suddenly become available for digital download on PC systems. Sony was forced to push PAYDAY’s PS3 release back this month after suffering a few last minute delays, but very few details were given about the PC release. So we were all a bit surprised when it showed up on Steam out of the blue.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with PAYDAY The Heist, SOE explains it this way: “PAYDAY: The Heist is an online co-op shooter game that features six dynamic heists based in a variety of urban settings that demand quick thinking, strategy, and above all else, teamwork.”

You can probably ignore all that stuff about “thinking” and “teamwork.” The Heist is about violently taking things that don’t belong to you in new and elaborate ways. In SOE’s words: “Whether you’re blowing the roof off a building to extract a safe via helicopter, or emptying the vault at the First World Bank, these action-packed heists will have players on edge and always checking their six.”

PAYDAY is currently available for $19.99 on STEAM, Direct-to-Drive/GameFly, Amazon.com, GameStop/Impulse, DLGamer, and GameTap. Considering all of these options, and the fact that it’s also available on the PlayStation 3, you really have no reason not to grab it. Unless you only own an Xbox 360. Then you’re screwed.

Have fun playing Halo again.
