When most people think of Pokemon, the first image that pops into their head is of Pikachu, the yellow mouse-like Pokémon that really jump-started the Pokemon phenomenon in the late nineties. However, times have changed, and apparently Pikachu is not the most popular anymore, with most gamers reporting that their favorite Pokemon is Arceus, the legendary Pokemon that created the universe with its thousand arms. Rounding out the top three are Darkrai, followed by Deoxys. Pikachu did place fourth in the survey (followed by Mew), but considering he’s been the face of the franchise for more than ten years, it still seems a little odd that a newer Pokemon who is barely in the games/anime series (though he does have appearances in both) would beat out this ubiquitous character.  |
