Valve has revealed its Portal 2 pre-launch publicity campaign on its new site, aperturescience.com/glados@home/. Steam users have been challenged to play indie titles on Steam, and if enough users do so, Portal 2 will release early. The titles in question are all part of Steam’s “Potato Sack Pack,” a promotional package of independent games currently on sale via the service. The games have been recently updated with Portal-related content, so the two things aren’t entirely unrelated.  As of this writing, there are just over 92 hours projected until the release of Portal 2. The number of CPUs playing each indie game is shown on the site, and the more games are played, the shorter the time until GLaDOS “reboots” and Portal 2 becomes available. |
