Pokemon Snap Coming to Wii U Virtual Console

Pokemon Snap Coming to Wii U Virtual Console

Pokemon Snap isn’t really that great of a game on its own, but because there are Pokemon involved, it somehow shines (remind you of a recent mobile hit?). This on-rails “shooter” is slow-going, clunky, and at times frustrating, but we love it all the same. There’s something about getting that perfect shot and discovering all of the weird secrets in each stage. Do you remember how get Magikarp to transform into a Gyarados, or how to get Dragonite to pop out of a certain whirlpool? Do you remember where you might spot a Pikachu riding on the back of an Articuno?

You’ll have the chance relive your adventures as an amateur Pokemon photographer very soon. Nintendo just announced that Pokemon Snap will be headed to the Wii U Virtual Console this Thursday in Europe, New Zealand, and Australia. As with most eShop offerings and Nintendo Select deals, we expect Pokemon Snap to come to North America after a short delay – perhaps next week? We’re still awaiting an official announcement from Nintendo of America, so keep an eye out on Twitter.
