PSN Maintenance Continues, Store Update Delayed

PSN Maintenance Continues, Store Update Delayed

Every Tuesday, the PlayStation store gets a full update. Sony uses the update to improve functionality and introduces new titles and expansions to the PlayStation library. Unfortunately, it’s Wednesday and the store still hasn’t received its weekly update. What’s going on?

Well, the PlayStation Network has been undergoing maintenance since Monday, and that maintenance hasn’t been completed yet. Until it is complete, the PS Store simply cannot be updated. For now, we’re not exactly sure what’s holding up the maintenance. Perhaps we will be getting an extensive new patch.

Some fans have become a bit paranoid at the ongoing maintenance. The last time we saw a maintenance period this long, the PSN was hacked. Still, Sony assures us that everything is fine and that normal operation should be restored shortly.

When the PSN Store is updated, gamers will finally be able to download the demo for Soul Sacrifice, one of the longest and most involved demos the Vita has seen. In addition, updates to the PlayStation Plus instant game collection are incoming as well.
