PSN Maintenance Scheduled For Today

You may have noticed that you can’t get into the PSN store today. Unfortunately, that is because Sony has scheduled some routine PSN maintenance for today. Sorry.

Sony has said that this maintenance will last from approximately 10AM EST to 2AM EST tonight. During this period, players will not be able to access the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Home.



Luckily, those are the only things that seem to be affected. Basic online gameplay will not be affected, and many PS3 apps such as Netflix, and Amazon Instant Video will also not be going down as well. The official U.S. PlayStation blog notes that these services shouldn’t be down as long as you have signed into the network at least five days prior to this maintenance period. They didn’t particularly explain why this makes a difference.

Sony has said that they will announce when the PSN is fully up and operational on both the official U.S PlayStation Blog and the PlayStation Twitter account.
