PSOne Classics Hit PS Vita

PSOne Classics Hit PS Vita

Nine new PS One classics are available to download for the Vita today. The full list is as follows:

  • Arc the Lad
  • Cool Boarders 2
  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Hot Shots Golf 2
  • Jet Moto
  • Syphon Filter
  • Tomb Raider
  • Twisted Metal 2
  • Wild Arms

These games were integrated as part of the 1.80 Vita system software update. Anyone who has already purchased these titles for the PS3 will be able to access the PSN store and download them free of charge.

Not only that, but some PS Vita fans have found a workaround to make even more PS One games available. If you download PS One games to your PS3 and leave them uninstalled and then transfer them to your Vita in the uninstalled state, you can install them on the Vita. Apparently, they run just fine on the Vita’s firmware.

Just keep in mind that these games have not gone through quality testing, so use this workaround at your own risk. Still, it seems like there isn’t a whole lot Sony has to do to make PS3 downloadable titles Vita compatible.
