RadioShack Goes Bankrupt

RadioShack, a favorite store of PC gamers and people who like to tinker with making their own game controllers, has hit some rough times. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this week. It won’t be closing all of its store doors (although some will be going out of business); it simply won’t be independently owned anymore.

RadioShack and other electronics stores have been struggling to compete in the current market, which is dominated by online retailers. The company was founded in 1921, and as of recently over 4,000 RadioShack stores were open and operational in the U.S.
