A recent batch of new job ads from Microsoft subsidiary Rare has hinted that the developer is currently hiring for a new AAA project or projects.
Out of the ads for an animator position is looking for someone with skills in bipedal animation, as well as quadruped and facial animation, which suggests that Rare’s new game(s) may have both two-legged and / or four-legged characters. A couple of other ads are looking for people skilled at using Unreal Engine 4, confirming that the game(s) will use the latest graphical engine from Epic Games. There’s also positions that mention the use of outsourced assets, as well confirm that the game(s) will be for Xbox One.
Another ad hints towards the use of Microsoft’s cloud in some fashion, and yet another suggests that Rare’s new game(s) will be constantly updated post-launch. “ Development of an online multiplayer game at scale ” is also mentioned, along with hints towards the inclusion of Xbox LIVE networking.
No official announcement has been made about this project or projects, so we’ll have to stay tuned to find out what becomes of this.
