Republique Expands To PC And Mac

Republique Expands To PC And Mac

Kickstarter continues to change the face of the game development world as we know it.

Ryan Payton recently started a Kickstarter for the newest project for Camouflaj studios: Republique, an elaborate stealth adventure that was originally intended for iOS. The game features an outside entity viewing the world through security cameras and guiding a girl who is trying to escape some sort of fortress. Players would primarily interact with the game world through their phone, using it as a phone is intended to. Characters would call you up to give you information, and actions in the game would be carried out through phone-like interfaces.

However, the biggest fan response on the Kickstarter page had not been about the game’s content, but rather the game’s platform. Fans of the project wanted to see the game come to the PC (and Mac).

Hearing the fan response, Camouflaj has decided to reproach their distribution plan and has now started developing a PC and Mac version. The idea would be to keep the overall feeling of the game consistent with the iOS version, while giving you more functionality through the use of a PC interface. For example, the development team said that you might be able to have multiple security camera windows open at once in the PC version.
