Kickstarter continues to change the face of the game development world as we know it. Ryan Payton recently started a Kickstarter for the newest project for Camouflaj studios: Republique, an elaborate stealth adventure that was originally intended for iOS. The game features an outside entity viewing the world through security cameras and guiding a girl who is trying to escape some sort of fortress. Players would primarily interact with the game world through their phone, using it as a phone is intended to. Characters would call you up to give you information, and actions in the game would be carried out through phone-like interfaces.
Hearing the fan response, Camouflaj has decided to reproach their distribution plan and has now started developing a PC and Mac version. The idea would be to keep the overall feeling of the game consistent with the iOS version, while giving you more functionality through the use of a PC interface. For example, the development team said that you might be able to have multiple security camera windows open at once in the PC version. By Angelo M. D’Argenio |
