RUMOR: BioShock Infinite Will Get DLC With A New Companion

Admittedly, I’m a bit saddened to see good ol’ Infinite receive the DLC treatment. Clearly the internet hasn’t taken my concerns into account, as a tweet has popped up claiming that the coming DLC will change out the game’s female lead, Elizabeth, with a “new AI companion character”.

The loss of our favorite Tear-opening damsel isn’t very appealing considering how frequently she’s given us cover and ammo stashes. However, removing that element from the combat creates an interesting opportunity for new gameplay mechanics. For starters, hiding caches and collectables near Sky Rails would place greater emphasis on the Sky Hook, which is to say nothing of the possibility of a new plasmid being wielded exclusively by our partner.

This big news is as vague as it comes, so we can only speculate until Irrational Games comments on who we’ll be spending the coming Columbian escapades with. We’ll keep you up to date with what they have to say, whether it’s to explain or deny the DLC.
