Kojima Can’t Get Enough “Transfarring.”

None

Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series, revealed in a press conference a while back his vision for a cloud-based save system that could work cross-platform. He wanted players to save a game on the PS3, then load that save on a portable device and keep playing.

This vision will soon be a reality, a feature that’s been given the unfortunate name “transfarring.” Recently, Kojima announced in a podcast that all future titles Kojima Productions works on will use this feature. Of course, this includes the Metal Gear re-releases. It’s already hard to not get excited about these re-releases, but the ability to carry Snake’s adventures in our pockets comes as icing on this already delicious cake.

It is not known whether the “transfarring” feature will be utilized by Metal Gear Rising, the upcoming Vita release, but we’ll have to wait and see. Until then, we’ll be hiding in a cardboard box near Kojima’s desk, trying to get our hands on more info.
