Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series, revealed in a press conference a while back his vision for a cloud-based save system that could work cross-platform. He wanted players to save a game on the PS3, then load that save on a portable device and keep playing. This vision will soon be a reality, a feature that’s been given the unfortunate name “transfarring.” Recently, Kojima announced in a podcast that all future titles Kojima Productions works on will use this feature. Of course, this includes the Metal Gear re-releases. It’s already hard to not get excited about these re-releases, but the ability to carry Snake’s adventures in our pockets comes as icing on this already delicious cake. ![]()
