Konami Unveils New HD Remakes

None

Konami is in the spotlight today as all of its new announcements from its pre-E3 press conference are being catapulted around the net. One of its biggest announcements was the unveiling of an upcoming HD remaster of two of its most well-known franchises: Zone of the Ender and Metal Gear. We’re not just talking about re-makes of specific games; we’re talking about remakes of the entire franchises.

The HD remake of Metal Gear will come out in November and will include Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. In fact, the only game it doesn’t seem to include is the original NES Metal Gear games and the original PlayStation Metal Gear Solid. The games will come back with HD graphics, new art, remastered audio, and achievements and trophies for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

The Zone of the Enders collection will include Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 and will be out sometime in 2012. It will include the same features that the Metal Gear collection will have, in a more space-themed package.

Konami also announced “Transfarring” a new feature that will come with any PSP remastered game such as Peace Walker. Basically, it will allow you to transfer your save back and forth from the HD version to the portable version. In addition, Konami also announced plans for a Silent Hill collection but they have not yet hashed out the details.
