If you’re a big Metal Gear Solid fan, a huge Metal Gear Solid fan, odds are you’re salivating at the thought of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid HD collection. Soon, even if you got a non-backwards compatible PlayStation 3, all of the games in the numbered series (plus Peace Walker) will be playable on one console (since Metal Gear Solid 1 is on PSN and 4 is available as a PS3 exclusive.) Xbox 360 owners won’t be so lucky, only having direct access to Metal Gear Solid 2, 3 and Peace Walker. They’re also going to miss out on what Hideo Kojima has dubbed the “transfarring” system. Is that a word? Not exactly, but you might have noticed that it’s very similar to “transferring,” which is a word, and an apt descriptor for the save-game transfer system incorporated by Peace Walker PSP and Peace Walker HD.
