RUMOR: Might Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter Be A Reality?

None

A recent Twitter conversation transpired between Seth Killian of Capcom and Ed Boon of Netherrealm Studios, giving us a hint about a project that gamers have been waiting for since the 90’s.

In response to Seth’s post: “Great to be able to just kick back a bit @noobde. Congrats on the award–Wiener’s Circle is on me next time I’m through Chicago :),” Boon said “Yes, great catching up with you too. Looking forward to our first MKvsSF meeting. 1st order of business: MKvsSF or SFvsMK. ;)”

Now, don’t take this too seriously. Boon is pretty notorious for joking around and trolling gamers on his Twitter feed. He previously talked about Mortal Kombat 10 with a winking smiley face, and that turned out be nothing more than a joke. In fact, he did the same with a new Killer Instinct. Now, the whole “MKvsSF or SFvsMK” thing appears to be a direct parody of Tekken X Street Fighter and Street Fighter X Tekken.

However, Yoshinori Ono of Capcom has previously said that he is interested in making a Mortal Kombat VS Street Fighter game work. If Boon is also interested, it’s possible that this dream team collaboration may not be so far off after all.
