We still haven’t heard a full confirmation of Mirror’s Edge 2, but we are already hearing rumors about the engine it will run on. Back in June, a rumor was going around that Mirror’s Edge would be using the Frostbite 2 engine. (That’s the impressive engine that Battlefield 3 runs on.) However, EA Games’ Frank Gibeau seemed to have dis-confirmed this early on. Now, there are rumors going around that Frank’s sarcastic statement of “You’ll see that combination [Mirror’s Edge and Frostbite 2] I’m sure” was less sarcastic than previously advertised. A statement in Official PlayStation Magazine said “the Frostbite 2 engine will pave the way for Mirror’s Edge to make a free-running return.” 
Perhaps that something is tied into Frostbite 2 in some way. |
