Is EA working on a brand new Mirror’s Edge title? According to EA’s help site , the answer is yes . An empty help page for Mirror’s Edge 2 just showed up on EA’s website.
Further confirmation for the title was found via a retail listing on Amazon Italy . The listing pegged the game for release a on January 1 st , 2020 release on the Xbox One, but that’s probably just a placeholder date. It then later showed up on Amazon Germany as well. Although both listings have been taken down at this point.
Rumors about the development of Mirror’s Edge 2 have been circulating the Internet for almost two years, and EA has been kicking around ideas for a sequel since the original came out. The publisher has repeatedly said that Mirror’s Edge is an important franchise that they would not be abandoning, but still has not confirmed work on a new Mirror’s Edge project. “We appreciate fan enthusiasm for Mirror’s Edge,” said EA to IGN “especially fans throughout the retail channel. This is not official EA material. We have nothing to announce at this time.”
