SEGA announced today that, via their official blog, it was going to delay the release of Sonic 4: Episode I to the “latter half” of 2010 from summer 2010 in order to ensure the game is perfect before the series is rebooted. The SEGA post stated that “SEGA has made the decision to ensure that Sonic 4: Episode I is a game worthy of bearing the weight of its name. To do so, we’ve decided to extend the game’s development – and, for the first time ever, we’ve mixed internal suggestions alongside fan feedback to make some new, positive changes to the game.” It was also confirmed that the game will make its way to iPhone and iPad.
