Fans have been waiting what seems like an eternity to find out what project Grasshopper Manufacture and EA have been working on. Thankfully, the two companies decided to finally let everyone in on Shadows of the Damned at this year’s TGS.
Dubbed as a “psychological action thriller,” Shadows of the Damned is a third-person title that seems like a bit of a departure from what you’d expect from Grasshopper Manufacture. Summing up the game’s story (via 1Up), Suda 51 states “[Shadows of the Damned] tells the story of Garcia Hotspur, who finds his true love abducted by demons of the underworld. He goes on a trip to help save his true love, and of course nothing can stop him or his love.” Producer Shinji Mikami also chimed in saying “What makes [Shadows of the Damned] different from other games is involving Suda-san here. And of course the game has a really punk rock edge to it. You can see Suda-san’s trademark flair and style everywhere in this game.” No release date was given for the title; however, expect it to come to both the Xbox 360 and PS3.
