Start your Day with Skylanders Cereal and other Licensing Deals

As reported by GamesIndustry International, bigwig publisher Activision revealed at this year’s Licensing Expo that it would be expanding its Skylanders IP across multiple licensing deals.

Some highlights of these newly announced licensing deals include branded fruit snacks and cereals with General Mills, the first Skylanders magazine with Immediate Media, a comic book series with IDW and coloring books with Crayola.

Activision also touched on its potential licensing deals, such as expanding further into the book publishing scene by looking to strike something with Penguin Group to ” spearhead a new platform, offering additional engagement opportunities for fans looking to learn more about their favorite characters.

From a global branding perspective, this has been a remarkable year for the Skylanders franchise, ” said Activision Publishing’s vice president of global licensing and partnerships Ashley Maidy. ” We are delighted that many of the world’s leading brands are collaborating with us on meaningful programs that let our fans engage with the Skylanders brand in ways that didn’t exist three years ago.

The next game in the Skylanders series, Skylanders: Trap Team , is slated to releases on Thursday, October 2 in Australia, Sunday, October 5 in North America, and Friday, October 10 in Europe for 3DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii and Wii U.
