Surround Not Just for Audio, 360 Degree Visuals Coming!*

None

We’ve all heard of Surround Sound, and most of you reading this have actually experienced it. Now come s Surround Round, and it literally has to be seen to be believed.

Surround Round is a new concept in gaming where you are literally surrounded by large screen televisions that create a 360-degree, peripheral, virtual environment. It’s the video equivalent of Surround Sound, and yes it does support Dolby 5.1.

Surround Round has been created with the aid of game developers and will be available for the PS3 and the Xbox 360, but only with games specifically developed for the system. Along with these special games you will need the Surround Round Matrix, the device that separates the signal and sends it to as many as six large screen TVs arranged as a six-sided polygon. The player sits in the center.

Marketing manager Gerald Kshywiecki says that the system does not come with the six large screen TV sets. He claims that would be far too expensive for the average consumer. Instead he says that this system will require a communal effort. Friends, families, and neighbors will bring their large screen TVs over for a weekend of fun gaming tournaments. Kshywiecki claims this is a great way to bring socializing back into gaming, something that’s been missing since the development of online gaming. He says that only rich people will be able to surround themselves with such extravagance, and that the average family would find this system irresistible.

Surround Round lets you play a variety of games, but it’s strictly a one-player system. Players take turns. Your turn is over if you lose a life, fail a task , or time-out. Everyone gets a chance to play. A swivel chair is required to give the player free range of movement. The system can also be configured with as few as three large screen TVs, but the player will just face the front.

Former CheatCC CEO Arty Hackery claims that he invented a similar concept a number of years ago. “I placed a series of mirrors around the room and it gave the illusion that lots was going on. My room looked huge, and it looked like there were a lot of guys playing games, like in an arcade. Things were going well until I noticed one of the guys was staring at me. He was a really ugly bastard, and I asked him what his problem was. Before I knew it there was an awful fight; glass shards everywhere. Every last mirror was broken, but I didn’t see that sonofabitch anymore. Well, until the next morning when I was shaving.
