The Week in Review & Rumor Round-up: Stand Tall Spartans, Activision Report, the Dark Side of Wii, and More!

The Week in Review news piece summarizes and highlights the most important gaming related news and rumors over the past week. This weekly article will keep you plugged in and in-tune.

Only a few mild gaming revelations made the cut this week. Probably the most exciting bit of news came from Sony and Ready at Dawn – God of War: Ghost of Sparta was confirmed to be in development for PSP. According to the PlayStation Blog, players can expect “over 25% more gameplay, an improved weapon system, and new magical powers,” as well as the best graphics on PSP to date.

Nintendo confirmed that North America will soon be getting Black Wii console retail bundles. The new color isn’t the only tidbit: both White and Black Wii bundles will all offer Wii MotionPlus as well Wii Sports Resort packed in, in addition to the Wii Remote, Nunchuck, and Wii Sports game disc for just $199.99. The new bundles will hit stores starting May 9 th .

Rockstar let it be known that their upcoming epic Western, Red Dead Redemption, is going to get free co-op gameplay missions in June. Called ‘Outlaws to the End,’ the add-on will allow 2-4 players to take part in six missions as a posse. Two more DLC packs will also be delivered in the future, but it is doubtful that they will also be free content.

Activision made it clear during their Q1 2010 conference call that Infinity Ward, despite the 35 employees that have already left (and assurances from Activision CEO Bobby Kottick that more are leaving), will be creating another Call of Duty title. Whether it will be a Modern Warfare title still remains to be seen.

Lastly, Call of Duty: The War Collection, which contains complete versions of Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3, and Call of Duty: World at War on one disc, will hit retail in June and cost $59.99.
