TIME Thinks BioShock Creator Is Important

None

When you think of the top influential people of 2012, you probably think of presidents, scientists, and even popular actors. However, this year TIME thinks the video game industry may have bred some notable people of its own. Ken Levine, the creator of BioShock, has been nominated for Time’s Top 100 Most Influential People of 2012, and we’re only four months in! Levine is joining people such as Barack Obama, Brad Pitt, Mark Zuckerberg, and Zynga CEO Mark Pincus.

One has to wonder how the nominees would look if they were decided after E3 this year. With the Wii U set to change the way we play games—again—and the rumors of a new Sony and Microsoft system on the horizon, there may be some other influential figures vying for this list that we just don’t know about yet.
