We all knew that Titanfall would end up riding the DLC train to rich-town. After all, the game is only multiplayer, so the ability to keep nickel and diming fans for new guns, new mechs, and new “story” is endless. Luckily, it looks like EA is going to take a more refined approach.
“We’re planning extra content already for the product,” said EA CEO Andrew Wilson, “but in the nature of the live service, I think that, that will evolve over time as we see how the player base evolves through the year.” It’s good to know that they will be supporting emergent gameplay. In addition, Respawn has made absolutely certain that Titanfall will not be utilizing microtransactions.
EA has also said that they hope that Titanfall will be as lucrative for them as Battlefield 4 Premium was. Will we see Titanfall premium in the future? Or will we just see a million DLC guns to purchase?
