Twisted Metal Delayed

Twisted Metal Delayed

None

The summer is slowly coming to an end. Of course, that means all the big name studios that promised fall and winter releases for their huge upcoming titles have given their projects a second look, and as a result we are seeing delays, delays, delays…

Twisted Metal is the most recent game to be hit with the delay bat. The game was originally planned to ship on October 4th, 2011, but David Jaffe recently said in a post on the official US PlayStation Blog that they are simply “just not ready yet.”

He then went on to explain why they are delaying the game, stating “it sucks bad when games miss their announced launch dates. We’re gamers too and we know how annoying it is. It’s disappointing and frustrating and it really takes the wind out of your sails if you’re a fan that has been looking forward to playing a title for a long time. Thing is, you gotta trust me when I tell you that—with this extra time for tuning and polish—the game is going to be so much better than it already is. And if you played Twisted Metal and liked it at E3 or Comic-Con, or if you get to play it (and you enjoy it) at one of the August shows, just imagine how much more fun the final game will be with some extra time, polish, and love.”

Finally he left us with words of wisdom that I think every game fan that has complained about a release date should take to heart: “A late game is only late until it ships. A bad game is bad until the end of time.” Of course, he was just quoting Shigeru Miyamoto on that, so let’s all play Skyward Sword while we wait for Twisted Metal to release.
