This news strikes me as rather untimely. The last time Uncharted 4 made headlines was this past weekend when thousands of moviegoers were treated to a spectacular, pre-rendered trailer for the game before Star Wars: The Force Awakens . Now that the interest of tens of thousands of new fans is piqued, Naughty Dog has announced that the game will be delayed for the second time. Originally the game was set to release by the end of 2015, then the date was pushed back to March 18. Now, Naughty Dog is shooting for an April 26 launch.
“This is our largest Uncharted game to date,” Naughty Dog said in a post on the PlayStation blog, “and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner. However …we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line.” Sounds legit to me. Like Deus Ex , the game is being pushed back to the developers can make sure all of our expectations our met. Unlike Deus Ex , this delay is comparatively minor, and if the comments in the original blog post are any indication, I think most of us are happy to wait.
