I was beginning to worry. Uncharted has walked a long, winding, difficult but successful road to get to where it is. Changes in staffing, development hiccups, and three delays had me wondering if Uncharted 4 was in trouble somehow. The latest delay was, supposedly, to allow more time for manufacturing. That sounded like an excuse to me. “Yeah, sorry about this delay, it’s just that we know the game is going to be so popular we have to make sure that there are enough discs for everybody.”
Well, at first I was seeing a red flag, but it seems like I was worrying over nothing. Uncharted 4 has officially gone gold, which means the game is complete and ready to ship. Naturally, the team over at Naughty Dog is pretty excited. Director Bruce Straley mentioned that he “…can’t wait for you guys to see what I think is the most visually stunning game ever created.” Very strong words. We’ll have to see if the actual game lives up to the hype on May 10.
