Rumors have been flying around about a possible Valve console for some time now. While Valve has recently said that they are a long way away from shipping any such console, recent job postings on their site would imply that they are hard at work on t least something having to do with hardware. They are currently looking for an electronic engineer to join their hardware team. According to the job posting, “For years, Valve has been all about writing software that provides great gameplay experiences. Now we’re developing hardware to enhance those experiences.” Valve is also looking for a firmware coder as well. The coder will be in charge of writing firmware for input and output devices to “let players interact with their games in ways they’ve never experienced before.” They are also looking for a psychologist, of all things, who will “provide relevant insight into human behavior in order to shape gameplay and customer experience.” ![]()
