Viacom Responds to Harmonix’ Allegations

None

The impending sale of Harmonix (the development studio behind the Rock Band series) has brought out some serious dirty laundry, and Harmonix has officially filed a suit against their former parent company for refusing to pay bonuses to shareholders based on the success of the game franchise.

Viacom has responded to these allegations and has blamed shareholder representative Walter Winshall for the bonus discrepancy, saying that while he was offered big payments for bonuses, he rejected those offers and held out for more. There is no court date set for the lawsuit (which covers more than just the bonus issue), but industry analysts suspect that a settlement may be made before the situation goes much further.
