Volume Turns up on PS Vita Next Month

Mike Bithell, the man behind the indie hit Thomas Was Alone, has finally revealed the release date for the PS Vita version of his stealthy puzzler Volume. The game has been out on PC and PS4 for a while – since August – and the PS Vita version was supposed to follow the PS4 version very nearly as a cross-buy title. In August Bithell wrote on the game’s official site, “It’s so very nearly ready, but it needs a little more love. A few personal problems and issues have slowed down our submittal, so even though the game is ‘done’ on Vita, we still have some QA process to go through…”

Apparently things were more complicated than Bithell let on; the game took almost 4 more months to secure a release date. Bithell mentioned in a later blog post that he committed to some extra work on the Vita version after some player feedback was taken into account. Now we can look forward to playing Volume on our PS Vitas on January 6. As I mentioned, the game is a cross-buy title, so if you already played the game on your PS4, you’ll be able to download it to your Vita for no extra charge.
