So, a while back we reported on a new clause in the PSN’s Terms of Service that says you cannot sue Sony. Of course, they included an opt out clause, but it’s not always clear which info you need exactly, and if you don’t get your letter notarized, Sony could simply pretend it doesn’t exist. Well, Matt Jakubowski has decided that he wanted to save gamers the trouble by setting up an opt out service that is accessible from the web. His new website “Gamers Opt Out” allows you to enter your personal information into a simple form, which will then be used to construct a form letter and send you a digital PDF proving its existence and evidence that it was mailed to Sony. The website promises that no information gathered will be sold or kept in any manner, but people are still somewhat wary it might be a scam. After all, the website advertises over 3,500 unsent letters with 0 sent.
Oh, and one more thing, you can use it to opt out of EA/Origin’s “Do not sue” clause as well. So that’s a plus. By Angelo M. D’Argenio |
