Welcome To The Season Of Game Delays

Welcome To The Season Of Game Delays

None

The gaming community tends to give developers a lot of flak when they delay a game, but making games is hard. Sometimes you just need a little extra time to make sure your game is absolutely perfect, or, you know, to make sure it isn’t an abysmal failure.

Take Might and Magic: Heroes VI. The PC game was scheduled to come out relatively soon, but now it appears as if it will be hitting around October 13th instead. This is actually the second delay the game has had, and this time it’s largely due to feedback from the game’s open beta. Supposedly, the game suffered from numerous balance issues and more than a few bugs. In the end it was probably better to delay the game than to release it broken.

Joining Might and Magic on the delay table is the PS3 version of Child of Eden. Though previously pegged for a September 20th release date, it has currently been pushed back to September 27th. As of this point, we don’t know why the game has been pushed back a week, but we do know that the game now does support the PlayStation Move controller and the PS3’s 3D display capabilities.

Honestly, 3D motion-controlled Child of Eden may very well be the trippiest video game experience anyone has ever designed.
