World Of Warcraft Drops Loses Even More Subscribers

World Of Warcraft Drops Loses Even More Subscribers

World of Warcraft is easily the most popular MMO on earth. AT one point, the game had more than 12 million subscribers, but it looks like the MMO’s popularity is wanting. At the end of 2012, Blizzard reported that World of Warcraft’s subscriber rate had dropped to 9.6 million. Now, only a few months later, they are reporting that they have around 8.3 million subscribers. That’s over a million people canceling their accounts in only five months.

Granted, the game is pretty old at this point. It hit the market on November 23 rd of 2004, so it’s coming up on its 10 th anniversary, which is funny because the game was originally released on the 10 th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise. 10 years is a long time for any game to remain popular, especially an MMO.

Even though World of Warcraft is losing subscribers, it’s still the most popular MMO on the market. Most other MMOs can’t even break a million subscribers. Still, it’s about time that Blizzard gave us something new to try out.
