WoW’s Upcoming Patch Will Bring Transmogrification And The Deathwing Raid

WoW’s Upcoming Patch Will Bring Transmogrification And The Deathwing Raid

None

According to Blizzard, about 11.4 million people currently play World of Warcraft, but based on my research, I think it would be more accurate to say that roughly “a buttload” of people play the game.

That buttload of WoW players should get their fingers ready to /dance, because Blizzard just released a few new details about the upcoming 4.3 patch.

The first, and probably most important, announcement is that the patch will include the highly anticipate Deathwing Raid. That’s right, players will finally be able to get back at that fire-breathing dillhole who’s been tormenting the universe for the last year.

Blizzard also announced a new feature called “Transmogrification.” Transmogrification allows players to customize the appearance of their armor/weapon set without affecting the stats. However, this doesn’t mean that you’ll be able to create entirely unique pieces of armor. Instead they will be able to dust off their old gear, but retain the stats of their new pieces. Blizzard’s official blog explains:

“This means that you can raid in your paladin tier 12 Immolation set, but look like you’re wearing Lightbringer, while priests can bring Benediction back—at least in spirit. Hunters can once again roam the jungles of Stranglethorn Vale in their tier 2 Dragonstalker set. You could even slip into the saucy tailored Black Mageweave set for that matter.”

I’m sure that Blizzard is hoping that these new features will increase the number of WoW subscribers from “a buttload” to “a crap ton.” Since, their membership numbers have been steadily declining over the last 6 months.
