Xbox 360 Being Updated Again!

Xbox 360 Being Updated Again!

None

A new Xbox Live update enables PayPal billing, making it easier for gamers to purchase online content. This update will make things easier for gamers with multiple users on their Xbox, since it doesn’t require users to store any credit card information. This PayPal option will be available to all Xbox Live users, excluding those in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Hungary, India, Japan, Russia, South Africa, South Korea and Taiwan.

The update also adds the option to allow the console to go on standby after an hour of inactivity. This is a considerable change from the old six-hour period. (After six hours, the console probably should have sent a message to your friends, asking them to check if you’re still alive.) This feature will work magnificently in conjunction with the background download option.

The update also provides support for the new Xbox disc format, known as XGD3, which contains an extra 1GB of capacity and has a cool little anti-piracy coating. Hopefully this won’t affect playability of pirate-themed games, but at least it’s a step toward getting all ye buccaneers to start legally buying the discs. The update will be automatically applied the next time you log on to Xbox Live.
