Xbox One Records Game Achievements at Moment of Unlock

Xbox One Records Game Achievements at Moment of Unlock

If you’ve ever spent hours in front of your Xbox 360, consuming copious amounts of Mt. Dew and working the analog sticks till your thumbs were sore in an attempt to desperately unlock that one achievement that still alludes you, your about to be rewarded in the next-gen with a new DVR feature.

We’re already aware of the new DVR functionality of the Xbox One that will record the last few minutes of every gameplay session in order to capture those game-winning hail marry passes or crazy FPS grenade lobs that somehow snatches victory from the jaws of defeat. Now, it looks like the DVR feature of the console will also detect when you unlock an achievement and start the recording feature so you’ll have a clip to share online.

Adam Pollington, executive at Xbox Australia told one YouTuber that the days of connecting an external capture device to your console in order to record gameplay will be a thing of the past. Also, this will no doubt be good news to the countless number of YouTube channels that depend on gameplay footage to support content on their individual channels as well.

The ability to share footage is going to be a great social-networking tool for gamers. The DVR content will only be available for upload to Xbox Live at first, but later will be expanded to other popular sites such as Facebook and YouTube.
