XCOM 2 Gets Long War Studios Mods at Launch

XCOM 2 Gets Long War Studios Mods at Launch

Mods for games are great, but you don’t expect them to be available until quite a bit after the game’s launched. You also don’t expect the developers to be working with established creators. But then, XCOM 2 does seem like the sort of game that goes against the norm. Firaxis has announced it’s working with Long War Studios, who made the Long War mod for XCOM: Enemy Unknown , on XCOM 2 mods. Yes, that’s a plural.

Long War Studios will make a series of XCOM 2 mods, which will be available when the game launches on PCs on February 5. James “JCLewis” Karlson, John Lumpkin, and Rachel “Amineri” Norman are working on them now and will talk about them at PAX South. Which means on January 30, we’ll have some idea of what supplemental material XCOM 2 will get.

If you’re not going to PAX South, you can still see the XCOM 2 mod announcement firsthand. It will be streamed on Twitch on January 30 at 1:30pm ET/12:30pm CT/10:30am PT.
