Assassin’s Creed Goes 3D

Assassin’s Creed Goes 3D

None

Stereoscopic 3D is still the newest thing in gaming these days. Since our graphics are already eye-bleedingly beautiful, we can only make them better by extending them into another dimension. This is exactly what will be done with Assassin’s Creed Revelations, as it was recently revealed that the game will have stereoscopic 3D support across all platforms, including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

On the PC, the game will support Nvidia 3D vision. On the console side, the game will be compatible with all 3D-capable TVs, and also the TriOviz Inficolor glasses, which allow 3D images to be seen on traditional 2D HDMI TVs. Unfortunately, TriOviz Inficolor glasses are still not available for purchase in the U.S. yet.

All of this sounds awesome, except for perhaps one tiny thing. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is a game about murdering people and parkour. I’m not entirely sure I can handle 3D rooftop tumbling and realistic blood without vomiting a little. Well, at least it isn’t stereoscopic Mirror’s Edge.

Ugh, I’m queasy just thinking about it.
